The gO! Running Group is a Roseville based recreational running group that aims to provide group running opportunities for runners of all abilities. Although our focus is primarily on 5K to marathons, we have members who have completed triathlons (including Ironman events) and ultras. We train on both roads and trails. We currently meet three times per week - Sunday mornings and Tuesday/Thursday evenings.

gO! Long & gO! Dirty

You may have heard, but some members of the gO! Group have caught the Ultra Bug! We have 10ish entered into the Way Too Cool 50K lottery (lottery is this Wednesday and the race is March 10) and 15ish members participating in the American River 50 miler on April 7! As a result of this phenominom, we have instituted a weekly gO! Saturday morning "Ultra" trail run. These runs will be designed for and in line with the AR 50 training plan (which can be found to the right). However, anyone that can handle the mileage is welcome. We will also carpool to many of them and carpool info is listed on the calendar in the "location" section for each run. We start THIS SATURDAY!

Also, we have planned an AR50 training camp in Big Sur over the weekend of Feb. 10-12. We will be staying at the Ferwood Resort (http://www.fernwoodbigsur.com/) on Friday and Saturday nights. We are planning 4 runs: Friday night (4-5 miles for those who get down there in time), Saturday morning (22 miles), Saturday afternoon (4-5 miles), and Sunday morning (10 miles). All runs will be on the various trails of the Big Sur area through the Giant Redwoods. EVERYONE is welcome (even if not running all that much). The resort has a motel, cabins, tent cabins, RV campsites, and regular campsites. Most importantly, they have a restaurant and tavern for some great gO! "socializing." Make reservations in groups or on your own ASAP!

Join us to gO! Long and gO! Dirty over the next few months!

A Great Day To Be A gO! Runner

gO! Magic was on full display yesterday at the annual CIM race! I can't imagine the day going much better! There might not be a better feeling as a runner than the feeling you get when you're running down L street just about to finish the California International Marathon and you spot the gO! group. Gathered to simply cheer each other on and support one another. Whether your race went good, bad, or somewhere in between, those moments are what you remember and what make it all worth it! THANK YOU to all who were involved for making yesterday one of the best gO! days to date!

Lori Runs for Brett

Here is my brother Brett with me on a warm summers day. We found a trail in Castro Valley that was accessible for him. I'm running tomorrow to remind him that anything is possible and to raise awareness for the Reeve Foundation and it's efforts to find a cure for spinal cord paralyis. Here is my blog, if you can make a donation I will be eternally grateful. http://lorirunsforbrett.blogspot.com/
